Currywurst Loaded Hot Dogs
Our take on the classic German street food, Currywurst Loaded Hot Dogs, filmed in our stunning Westminster Showroom.
Ingredients:
6 Bratwurst sausages
6 brioche hotdog buns
1 tbsp rapeseed oil
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp curry powder + extra for
dusting
300g ketchup
2 tbsp dark brown sugar
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2tsp paprika
2 tsp salt
2 tsp American mustard
For Garnish:
Pickles
Crispy onions
Directions:
In a medium size saucepan, soften the onion in a little oil until translucent, add the garlic, curry powder, paprika, salt and mix well. Cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
Now add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, and stir. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. (Optional – for a smooth sauce, blend until smooth and pass through a sieve – this is your homemade curry sauce. Return the sauce to the pan and leave to one side.)
Put your sausages on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned.
Serve in the hot dog rolls, spoon over the curry sauce, garnish with some pickles, crispy onions and sprinkle over some curry powder. Enjoy!
